Children as pets

“The nuclear family, which consists of parents and children relatively isolated from sisters and cousins and aunts, is an artifact of the modern middle class.  Children no longer work on the farm or in the family business; they are raised almost like pets.  Modern marriages, no longer essential for survival, have become luxuries whose primary purpose is to fulfill our needs for sex, intimacy, and emotional connection.  We are convinced that the increase in divorce reflects the simple economic reality that most of us can today afford to leave relationships that we no longer find satisfying.”

pg 71, The Ethical Slut by Dossie Easton and Catherine A. Liszt

Spirals

Spiral

Use more metallic glitter pens. Ok?

What does haptemic mean? Google didn’t really tell me.

These notes came from a workshop at work.  I barely remember what he was talking about, but it was inspirational enough for me to illustrate it as a spiral.

A lady at work was on a streak about how development happens in spirals.  Any progression in development is only progressed when they spiral round and round… or back and forth?
